Perhaps you have wandered in and out of different religious services only to find yourself confused and bewildered. You know God is love, but you cannot seem to find Him or His love. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

My friend, religion will always leave you empty and unfulfilled. No amount of good works will ever fill the longing of a man's soul. The Bible states that all men have sinned. We have violated God's commands and failed to live according to His standards. Furthermore, the Bible teaches that the penalty for sin is death. This death is more that just physical; it is also spiritual: separation from God forever. In and of ourselves , we are completely hopeless.

But Jesus cares. He died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, but rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. Christ died as our substitute. He sacrificed Himself to pay our penalty and then conquered death to give man not only abundant life in this world but also eternal life in Heaven. And the amazing thing is that Christ offers His payment as a free gift. Man cannot earn eternal life; he must freely accept God's gift, Jesus Christ, by repenting and turning from his sin and by trusting God with his life.
